The Josie Gibson and John James Parton romance was simultaneously the most bizarre and the most fantastic thing about Big Brother 11. After their departure, they did what most couples do – star in a one-off reality show about their relationship, break up and have a mega Twitter feud, then not see each other for six years.

UNTIL LAST NIGHT, when they were reunited in the place where the magic started – a Borehamwood studio. Both appeared as panellists on spin-off show Big Brother's Bit On The Side, with the Aussie hunk (he's got kinda hunky) being sensationally introduced by host Rylan Clark-Neal as Josie sat there alarmed.

"We've seen some incredible relationships in the house - Chicken Stu and Michelle, Makosi and Anthony - but nothing compares to this reunited duo," said Rylan as he grinned mischievously.

"Reunited for the first time in six years, give it up!"

John James then awkwardly entered the studio (tripping over on the way) and tried to hug Josie, who responded… err… less than warmly.

"This is a moment," said Rylan. "How are you both feeling? Are you alright with this?"

Josie then replied with "Umm," as the audience started lolling.

The hunk then said: "I'm alright – I'm good! I'm good."

Rylan quickly moved the situation on, saying "that's what we're all about on this show, lovely moments."

So lovely.

Things became a bit less excruciating later on in the show, when the former flames actually managed to have some bants while discussing the current "tactical players" on this year's show.

Josie later made light of the very bizarre situation by tweeting: "I've had three boyfriends my whole life and their like f*cking boomerangs!!"
