Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran are good friends, obviously. Fans found this out when Ed revealed that the Biebs actually let him hit a golf ball off of that precious face of his a few years ago. Who knows why Justin would ever agree to let Ed – or anyone for that matter – literally smashing his face in. But, we digress.
The "Sorry" singer chatted with The Sun about whether or not he wants Ed to write another song for him. DUH, he does. If fans remember correctly, the "Supermarket Flowers" singer wrote Bieber's hit track, "Love Yourself" for his Purpose album. Ed is a literal superstar and a big-time writer in the biz so it's not completely shocking that the Biebs is dying to get in the studio with him again.
Justin said, "Of course I want him to write for me again in the future. I get that every artist out there wants him to write for them – but we are buddies and he still owes me from hitting me with a golf club!" LOL, can't let the old golf club joke go, can we now, Justin?! All laughing aside, JB continued, "Artists are fighting over Ed - he is a genius when it comes to songwriting. If Ed writes you a song you pretty much know you have a guaranteed hit."
And the praise just kept on coming. Justin explained, "I think probably a lot of people aren't even aware of some of the songs he has written for the biggest performers in the world over the last few years. He wrote, "Love Yourself", for me and bang – it was the biggest song of 2016."
He isn't lying, either! It would be awesome to see Ed and Justin collaborate again and it seems like if it is up to Justin it's going to happen sooner rather than later all because of that one hazy night in Japan. Ed revealed back in March, "We were in Japan. We'd been out to a dive bar. He just drank water and I got hammered. Then we went to a golf course, and he lay on the floor and put a golf ball in his mouth and told me to hit it out of his mouth.
I was like, 'F--k, I need to aim this properly,' and I swung. And you know in films when someone gets punched, and you hear that fake sound, like a slap? But in real life when someone gets punched, you hear that dull thud, a bit sickening? I heard a sound like the last one, and saw his security guard looking at me like....I'd cracked Justin Bieber right in the cheek with a golf club. That was, one of those 'What the f--k?' moments."
To be honest, we think this was all a ploy in Justin's mind. He knew that if Ed did this he would owe him big time. Hey, Ed, it looks like that time has come where you are going to need to pay Justin back. Genius move by Justin, genius move.
