Justin Bieber branded a hero at Coachella after ‘punching man who grabbed a woman by the throat’

Where did it all begin? Well, the year was 2009 and Scooter Braun (Biebs' manager at the time) got in contact with Selena's mum (also, her manager) and BAM.... the rest was history.

The pair hit it off and quickly become BFFS with Selena describing Bieber as "her little brother"....well they do say the best relationships are the ones that start as friends, first....

After a year of denying fueling rumours and accusations of the pair dating, the paps got a snap of the pair sharing an intimate kiss on a yacht in NYE'10, (you can't say they don't give us what we want to see in style!)

Ok, so now we're in 2011 (February to be exact) and Jelena make their first official public appearance at the Oscars Vanity Fair Party. Yeah, there's no denying that look of love they both have (how adorbssssss)

Biebs being the helpless romantic he is, chose the most romantic night of the year to serenade Selena at Dick Clark's New Years Rock and Eve show NYE'09 (what an absolute cutie!!)

2012 started well for the stronger than ever couple with them actually having to shut down engagement rumours, both stating they were still far too young to be thinking of marriage....

Come Nov'12- DISASTER STRUCK, Jelena are no more. Hollywood's answer to a young Romeo and Juliet have officially split, blaming their busy schedules. This is the first break up of many...hold on to your hats people, it's gonna a bumpy road from here....

With months apart and Justin kinda going off the rails a bit (various vandalism scandals and who can forget the infamous egging incident...) Selena is obvs concerned about her ex and it seems they reunite in May'13 with this Insta pic...much to the dismay of Selena's BFF, Taylor Swift.

Selena shut down the rumours of a reunion, despite the super confusing Insta pics. This sent Justin into an even more downward spiral, and he was arrested for a DUI at the start of 2014.

Justin was clearly missing his former other half, tweeting this pic of Selena with the caption 'most elegant princess in the world.' Poor Biebs....

Biebs sent Jelena fans into meltdown with this pic captioned 'Our love is unconditional'....we are now in June'14 btw, just to keep you in the loop.

A couple of months later Justin uses the gram to confirm the pair are back together...keeping up ok?

Who remembers the Kendall/JB saga? Yep we're at Oct'14 and the getting through the Jendall episode. Which we all remember was short lived and just a little bit weird....

Justin resorts back to his Insta to show the unconditional love he has for Selena, using all his efforts to try and win her back.

A month later Gomez releases her single, "The Heart wants what it Wants", confirming to Ryan Seacrest that the video is about her on/off relationship with Bieber. She also gave Jelena fans a glimpse of hope of the relationship potentially igniting again when stating that she will always care for him...(ooo fingers, toes, everything crossed!!)

After Selena's emotional performance of her JB dedicated single she confirms her and Justin are not back together, which is later reaffirmed by Justin with a captioned pic he posts with his "good friend" Hailey Baldwin.

Selena decided to take a break from the Jelena drama and date Zedd in Jan'15. The romance was predictably short lived and thrown into a loop when she had dinner with the Biebs during her time with Zedd.

Months later her split from Zedd, Selena grabs dinner with Justin around the same time of The Met Gala where Justin shouted out how beautiful he thought Selena looked as he left the event...again sending Jelena fans into meltdown about a possible reunion....

Ok, we're now in Nov'15 and it's looking like this could be the long awaited reunion we've been eagerly, on the end of our seats been waiting for. Justin serenades Selena in a LA hotel with covers of his songs "Sorry" and "My Girl". They later go off for a stroll where the paps catch them slow dancing and possibly sharing an intimate kiss (I know, we're dying too!!!)

A year later...and it seems Justin has a new love interest in the form of Sofia Richie. He shares a stream of pics on Insta of the pair and is seen holding her hand an awful lot. The Jelena fans weren't too happy about this at all and took to social media to slam the Biebs for being so insensitive towards Selena...and of course the Insta feud between Selena and JB erupted where serious shade was thrown and resulted in Justin deleting his gram all together...#oops.

It looked like the end for Jelena when Selena starting publicly dating The Weeknd and not being shy about it either...the pair looked smitten and we were finally settling into seeing our girl in a happy, healthy relationship. Unfortunately it only lasted 10 months and yep you guessed it...she was spotted with Justin straight after (sigh)

Since splitting with the weekend, Selena has been seen hanging with Justin an awful lot; going on cute bike rides together, cuddling, going to hockey matches, and yes ATTENDING CHURCH TOGETHER...if that doesn't scream 'more than just friends' I don't know what does.
