Justin Timberlake sparked a thousand memes when he told police last year that his arrest was ‘going to ruin the tour’, but still, the singer powered on. However, after criticism that he’s been acting strangely during his Forget Tomorrow world tour and amid rumours that his marriage is on the rocks, Justin has now revealed that he’s been struggling behind the scenes.
In an Instagram statement, Justin, 44, shared last week, ‘I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease, which I don’t say so you feel bad for me, but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against… If you’ve experienced this disease or know someone who has, then you’re aware living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.’
heat’s insider tells us, ‘This illness has really humbled Justin. It’s been a big wake-up call for him and has made him realise that some serious changes need to be made to his lifestyle and his priorities. He’s telling people he’s going to be slowing down because he has to take his stress levels way down if he wants to get better.
‘If he has to cut back, it’s his wife and kids that he wants to give his energy to, not work and partying. It’s no secret their marriage has taken some hits lately, but Justin is adamant that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to hang on to Jessica.’
In the past few years, the former NSYNC member has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. When he was arrested for ‘driving while intoxicated’ in June 2024, heat reported that the father of two’s 13-year marriage to actress Jessica Biel – with whom he shares Silas, 10, and Phineas, five – was ‘reaching breaking point’.
It followed his indiscretions back in 2019, when he was photographed looking very cosy with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright. As a result, the SexyBack singer apologised to his ‘amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation’, but denied that anything had happened between him and Alisha, 36.
With Justin and Jessica reportedly living separate lives while he is on his world tour, perhaps a break can’t come soon enough.
