In October 2015, Lamar Odom was rushed to hospital after being found unconscious in a brothel in Nevada.
He spent four days in a coma, after suffering a number of strokes and kidney failure – but made a miracle recovery.
Khloe Kardashian however has now revealed that at the time the Kardashian family were given false information: someone set up a fake account saying Lamar had died.
The Kardashians discussed the traumatic day on the 10th anniversary special of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Kim told Ryan Seacrest: “Someone had made a fake account and emailed me the wrong information. Khloe screamed on the plane.”
Khloe added: “On the plane, they said he died. Someone faked it. I was screaming.
“But to think, and to go through the motions as if someone has passed away is the most traumatic thing to do, and then to know they’re really alive…it was too many emotions, I think, for any of us to handle.”
Kendall recalled being on a flight from Hong Kong to London when she got a text from Kim saying Lamar had passed away. This was later followed by a text saying he was actually alive, but not doing well.
Khloe filed for divorce from Lamar in 2013, but while he was in hospital she called off the proceedings to help make Lamar’s medical decisions as his legal spouse.
In May 2016, she re-filed for divorce, and it went through in December that year.
Speaking about the ordeal, Lamar said: “Did I feel ashamed about some of the choices I made? I was basically just committing suicide.”
He has also described how supportive Khloe was throughout, despite the fact that they’d split two years before.
The 10th anniversary special airs this Sunday on E! at 9pm – and the new season begins on October 1.
