Karrueche Tran gushes about Rihanna and opens up about her split with Chris Brown

Chris Brown’s ex Karrueche Tran has spoken out about being in that awkward love triangle with Rihanna. For a while, it seemed like Chris couldn’t make up his mind of who to date. Every couple of months his relationship status seemed to shift and he was linked with one or the other. Chris allegedly even dated them at the same time during 2013. Awkward.

But now, after their painful split with the rapper, Karrueche has opened up about her relationship with Chris and what it was like always being compared to Rihanna.

“We just dated the same guy, and that’s kind of what it is,” Karrueche told Real 92.3 LA. “It’s always a competition thing and they compare us, but she is Rihanna.

“She’s a pop star and she’s beautiful and she makes great music, and I’m just me and I’m growing and working into myself. You can't compare us because we're two completely different girls.”

Karruenche and Chris split shortly after he found out he’d got a daughter, Royalty, from a previous relationship. At the time she tweeted: “Listen. One can only take so much. The best of luck to Chris and his family. No baby drama for me.”

Speaking to the radio station about the news, she said: “I called him. I cussed him out, and I was like [I’m done]. You know, because after the whole Rihanna thing, it’s been like a year or whatever — we’ve been trying to fix what was broken, and that was just the icing on the cake.”

Now, Karrueche says she’s trying to move on. Pretty hard when your ex is an international star…

“I make it so we don't have to cross paths so it's not awkward,” she added. “But I do get on Instagram and there's people tagging us, or I'll hear a song or something... I kind of just have to block it out.”
