It’s exactly a year ago this week that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin “consciously uncoupled” and, to celebrate, Chris hooked up with his third hot blonde this year – Kate Hudson.
Last week, Chris, 38, and Kate, 35, were spotted on the beach in Malibu looking cosy, and friends tell heat that it’s been a long time coming.

“Kate’s fancied Chris for ages,” says a pal of Kate’s.
“They’ve been friends for years, but she was with [Muse frontman] Matt Bellamy. In October, Chris went to Kate’s Hallowe’en party and everyone was talking about their chemistry. Then, she broke up with Matt just before Christmas, but Chris was with Jennifer [Lawrence]. Now, the timing is finally perfect.”
Despite separating 12 months ago, Chris and Gwyn still haven’t filed divorce papers. That could be pretty awkward, as Gwyn and Kate were close when they lived in London. Kate told a mag, “I look up to Gwyneth and how she has been in her life. She’s the real deal.”
And Gwyneth is furious about Chris and Kate’s beach date because “she actually felt she’d got closer to Chris recently”. A friend of Gwyn’s tells heat, “They even spent Valentine’s Day together. It’s a total shock that he’s spending time with Kate. It’s not like Gwyn wants him back, but she doesn’t want him dating one of their good friends.”
