We all have mixed feelings when it comes to our exes, but not all of us have to worry about one writing a tell- all memoir detailing our “drug-fuelled nights” together.

So, Kate Moss is said to be dreading this summer, when Pete Doherty’s new book will hit the shops, reflecting on “his era-defining relationship” with the model. And it’s set to rake up a whole lot of controversy Kate really hoped she’d left behind.

Sources say the Libertines rocker’s book A Likely Lad – out 16 June – will cover his “creative process, decadent parties, substance-fuelled nights, his time in prison and tendency for self-destruction”, which includes his two years with Kate, 48.

The pair dated back in 2005, after meeting at her 31st birthday party. They went on to become the most famous hot-mess couple in history, appearing at every party, staggering out of every nightclub, and enjoying every festival with a VIP tent.

They’re best known for those photographs showing the couple with a suspicious white powder, which led to Kate losing a £4million modelling contract with H&M, along with big-money Chanel and Burberry deals.

The rocky pair were also briefly engaged, with Pete, now 43, introducing her on stage as his fiancée during a gig. He later said, “I love her with all of my heart. I love her bones. I love her brains”, and even wrote, “I love Kate 4eva” on his car after leaving court following another drug-related arrest.

These days, Kate – who’s mum to supermodel-in-waiting Lila Grace, 19 – has cleaned up her image. She’s been sober for almost four years, preferring early nights and yoga to her previous life as “The Tank” – a nickname she earned for her ability to down Champagne flutes. Kate recently explained, “I take care of myself now, I’m a good girl. I go to bed, I drink lots of water, not too much coffee.”

She’s also happily settled down with her boyfriend of seven years, Count Nikolai von Bismarck. The pair have converted the basement of their north London mansion into a Turkish steam room and yoga studio, choosing green juices and salads over vodka lunches. Long gone are the days of being chucked off an EasyJet flight, and instead, Kate prefers jetting off to a Turkish meditation retreat.

Pete’s also a changed man. He’s “quite clean” and lives in the French countryside with his new wife and dogs.

An insider last week reported that “Kate has really turned her life around since those days. She’s moved on,” adding, “But fans will be fascinated to find out what really happened between her and Pete.”
