Katie Hopkins defends her Kelly Clarkson fat tweets: “It was funny – she’s a big old bird”

Katie Hopkins stands by her harsh tweets about Kelly Clarkson's weight, which she posted during the singer's appearance on the Graham Norton Show.

Katie enraged Twitter and Kelly Clarkson fans alike when she tweeted "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen #grahamnorton," she wrote.

Speaking to New Zealand radio show, ZM, Katie stood by her harsh remarks: "I thought it was quite funny. She was on our TV screens here on the UK and I haven't seen Kelly for years and when I saw her on tele I thought, 'Oh my God, what happened to Kelly Clarkson?"

Katie thought she was merely reflecting the views of the UK - lord knows how everyone loves to agree with her. NOT.

"What I do on Twitter is reflect the views of maybe the viewer at home on their sofa. The reason that went crazy on Twitter is because so many people thought the same thing.

"I understand she was on your show recently and that's lovely and everything but ultimately she's a big old bird."

The radio hosts said that Katie comments were pretty much just bullying, as Kelly returned to music from having a baby a year ago, to which she replied: "Just don't shove so much food in the top of your body, it's pretty simple, right?"

Katie addressed the fact Kelly had recently become a mother in her barrage of tweets:

“Darling, if you had baby a year ago, that is not baby weight. It is fat. Quit calling it cute names to make yourself feel better.

"Baby weight, puppy fat, muffin top. We’re so weakwilled we have to make up cute names for fat. Babies, puppies, muffins. Nope. Just fat love."

Kelly Clarkson has yet to respond to any of Katie's remarks, probably because she has no idea who Katie is and never will do. Lucky her.
