Katie Hopkins is a right old blabbermouth – she’s always blurting out mean things about overweight people, people with names she doesn’t like, fellow famous people, basically all people.
So it may be a surprise to some that after she spent some time in hospital on New Year’s Day she actually received some SYMPATHY from fans.
The former Apprentice contestant ended up in accident and emergency for unknown reasons this week and tweeted to thank the medical professionals who assisted her.
She wrote: “Watched a nurse punched full in the face and another bitten in A and E on 1 Jan. The treatment of nurses and doctors by drunks is outrageous.
“Big thank you to the team at Hillingdon hospital. The work they do in very difficult situations is remarkable. Drunks and druggies are cruel.
“My time at A & E was not alcohol related. Thank you for your concern.”
In response, one follower wrote: “Hope you’re alright.”
Another user recounted a harrowing time they spent in hospital, sympathising with Katie.
Somewhat less surprisingly, a number of users were not so kind with their words.
One person tweeted: “hahahahaha did someone try and run u over hahahahaha.”
Another posted: “Why would I be concerned? Karma.”
Whatever happened to Katie, she seems to be fine now as she quickly returned to promoting her TLC documentary My Fat Diary, which starts tonight at 9pm on TLC, by relentlessly reposting messages from fans about the show.
