Katie Hopkins slams Danny Dyer’s engagement news – so he compares her to a BLOKE

It was only going to be a matter of time before Katie Hopkins latched on to one of the biggest showbiz stories of the day and ran her mouth, well, her fingers all over Twitter to voice her rubbish opinion.

Danny Dyer and his long-term girlfriend Joanne Mas announced they are engaged after Joanne proposed to Danny on Valentine’s Day.

Of course, professional troll Katie thought this was just hideous because Joanne had asked Danny to marry her rather than the other way around.

The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up tweeted: “I don’t believe any woman really WANTS to propose to a man. Women would far rather be proposed TO than propose AT. @MrDDyer etc.” Yawn.

Referring to a woman who cut off her husband's penis in America in 1993, Katie later added: "Dyers girlfriend went full Lorena Bobbitt; being proposed to removes a man's genitals. To emasculated to say no were we @MrDDyer?

"Oi @MrDDyer boy, who bought the ring? Presumably your bird had to fund her own diamonds too given you gave up your Crown Jewels saying yes?"

EastEnders actor Danny didn’t let us down with his reply, comparing Katie to late Steptoe and Son star Wilfrid Brambell, who was very much a BLOKE with a big nose.

He hit back: "No I agree...especially when you look like ya face should be on the side of a gothic building..have a nice day ya daft sexist ya.

“Really…….and no man wants his wife to have the look of Wilfred Bramble either…strange old world innit.

"I'd pay you a compliment coz I know it upsets ya.....diddums.....but I'll be b**locked if I can think of one."

Posting a picture of Wilfrid in a hat, he added: "I've picked a hat for you for the wedding. Have a wonderful spiteful week my love."

Danny and his new fiancée met when they were both 14 and they have three children together – Dani, 18, Sunnie, seven, and 15-month-old son Arty.

Speaking about the happy news to Hello! magazine, Danny said: “It was a complete bolt out of the blue but I’m so glad she did it because I don’t think I could have taken the rejection. I love the fact Jo proposed.

“I never wanted to get married when the children were babies because I wanted to let my hair down and enjoy the day.”

He added that now they’ve completed their family, “the time is right”.
