Katie Hopkins wants son to be gay because it would make her “much more savvy”

Sometimes when Katie Hopkins’ mouth opens we see it happen in slow motion as thoughts rush through our minds about what horrendous statement is going to fly out next.

The Celebrity Big Brother runner-up has been on a rampage lately and has repeatedly taken aim at poor Kelly Clarkson for appearing to show a slightly fuller figure than normal.

And now she’s come out with some surprise words about her own son, Maxwell – she hopes he’s gay because it will make her “much more savvy”.

Katie doesn’t appear to have given any thought to how Maxwell might come to terms with his own sexuality and she doesn't know if he is in fact homosexual but, we have to say, it is nice she seems so accepting, in a way… for a change.

She told QX Magazine: “Is my son gay? I kinda hope he is. Everybody with a gay son is much more savvy, the son tells them exactly what they think.

“My son really loves stuff to do with dancing, and fashion and he couldn’t give a toss about boys’ things like football.”

The professional blabbermouth is confident she’ll be able to protect her son from any trouble if he did in fact turn out to be gay and school bullies targeted him.

She said: “I walk my children to school and the key thing about doing that is your kids talk to you about what’s going on.

“The kids took the piss out of my daughter because she had boys shoes because she wanted boys shoes. But she said to the other kids, ‘These are my feet, these are my shoes, you don’t have to wear them.’

“And that’s what I hope my kids are going to be like. I’d hope that I’m around enough to know if they were being bullied for being gay.”

Alright, maybe she’s not totally awful… sometimes…
