Former Coronation Street actress Katie McGlynn has been forced to cut short her new role in a pantomime after picking up an illness which has left her unable to fulfill her part of Tinkerbell.
Katie, who played the role of Sinead Tinker in Corrie until last year, wrote on Twitter to announce the news, where she apologised to anybody who had already booked tickets to see her.
The actress wrote, 'Absolutely gutted but on doctors advice I’ve had to take the final week out of panto as I’m unwell... I’ve loved my time as Tinkerbell in Peter Pan @ABPtheatreshows ❤️ I’m so sorry to everyone who has booked tickets..but you’ll still have a fab time with the rest of Peter Panto x '. [sic]
Northwich Pantomime who hired Katie were quick to respond to her tweet, writing, 'We are sure you will all join us in wishing Katie well. We've loved having her as Tinker Bell and look forward to working with her again in the future.'
Katie's friends and fans were also quick to wish the actress their kind words. Hayley Tammadon wrote, 'Hope you’re ok sweet. Xxxx', with a fan adding, 'Hope you feel better soon. My family were lucky enough to see you in it on Christmas Eve. We always love the ABP panto.' [sic]

Katie's Corrie character Sinead sadly died after loosing her battle with cervical cancer, just months after welcoming her baby boy Bertie. Fans were left in tears as her finally scenes aired, with Katie opening up on Loose Women about how the storyline affected her own mental health.
She told the panel, "I kind of underestimated the effects that it’s had on my mental health. I’ve only just noticed it, walking away from it and filming, that part of me is breathing Sinead and it’s bizarre.
"I’ve started doing a fitness thing to safeguard myself and that’s really helping me mentally. I sound silly saying it but I believe Sinead is real. I played her for six-and-a-half years. Me and Corrie created this character and I feel like she’s my friend."
Katie's final scenes on Coronation Street aired in October 2019.
