Katie Price: ‘I’ll walk again for my wedding’

Never underestimate the Pricey, guys. Because the moment you do, she’ll fly off to Turkey, come back with two broken feet, and then start planning an extravagant wedding, which will involve her being wheeled to the church in a diamanté-encrusted wheelchair… before bravely getting to her feet and hobbling down the aisle. You honestly couldn’t make it up.

As heat told you last week, Katie’s desperate to make her new boyfriend Carl Woods, who she started dating in June, lucky husband number four – and she’s been very vocal about how committed she is, telling any potential suitors out there, “[Don’t] try and contact me again and have respect that Carl has all my energy, time, love, and soul forever.”

She even teased an engagement, telling her followers that Carl had proposed and she’d said yes… before quickly reassuring fans that she’d just been messing around and there was “no need to buy hats yet”.

But according to insiders, Katie – who returned to London last week in a wheelchair, after breaking both her feet while on holiday in Turkey – is more serious about marriage than she’s letting on. And the fact she’s been told she won’t walk again for a while isn’t slowing her down one bit.

“Katie was shocked when the doctors said she wouldn’t be able to walk for up to six months, but she’s determined not to let this get her down,” says an insider close to the 42 year old, who’s apparently been told she’ll need to learn to walk again, after jumping off a wall at a theme park and suffering hairline fractures in both her heels.

“Although Carl hasn’t officially proposed yet, they’ve talked about it and want to get married as soon as possible, with Katie determined she’ll be out of her wheelchair and walking down the aisle.”

It’s certainly been an eventful few months for Katie – who flew to Turkey with Carl and two of her five kids, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13 – for a bit of R&R . Speaking before jetting off on holiday, Katie told her followers she couldn’t wait to get away, after spending last month worried sick about her eldest son Harvey, 18, who spent two weeks in intensive care after suffering with breathing problems.

As we now know, her streak of bad luck got a whole lot worse after injuring both her feet in Turkey, but – ever the pragmatist – Katie later told fans, “It’s happened and now I have to deal with it.” According to our insider, she’s determined to end this year on a high note. And that means doing whatever it takes to say, “I do.”

“Katie doesn’t want to be pushed down the aisle in a wheelchair, so she is focused on being able to walk for the wedding,” we’re told. “She’ll do anything she can – but if she has to turn up to the wedding in a customised wheelchair, she wants Carl to see her walk down the aisle to him. He has been such a support through all of this and deserves the best day.”

It’s definitely a hard task for the former glamour model – who’s apparently hired physio expert Fred Murray to “teach her to walk all over again as her feet heal”. But if anyone can do it, the Pricey can.

We’d say give her a standing ovation, but for now, we’ll stay seated in solidarity.
