It looks like we might have to imminently add Katy Perry and Calvin Harris to our list (YES WE HAVE A LIST) of unexpected celeb romances of the decade (see also: Cheryl and Liam Payne and Charlotte Crosby and Stephen Bear).
It’s been rumoured the two have been getting a bit cosy while they were working together on Calvin’s new album that Katy’s featuring on, out 30 June.!
This pairing was of particular interest to us, given that Katy’s been locked in a bitter feud with Calvin’s ex Taylor Swift for the last few years (PLUS, she’s been single for two months) and our insiders tell us there’s a bit of romance going on.
“Katy and Adam [Calvin’s real name] really bonded while making their track, and have been in constant contact ever since,” says our source. “Besides their rivalry with Taylor, they’ve actually got lots in common – they’ve read the same books, and love the same music. Katy actually bought Adam this old, rare Elvis Presley record worth around ,000 – he was really flattered.”
Katy’s war with Taylor started when Tay wrote Bad Blood and hinted in interviews that it was about a singer she used to be friends with, but ended up being “a straight-up enemy”. Katy replied by cryptically tweeting “beware the Regina George in sheep’s clothing”. The rivalry was basically confirmed when Calvin, on a Twitter rant about Taylor, accused her of “trying to bury Katy”.
We all know that Katy bloody loves a Brit (remember Orlando Bloom and the paddleboard?), so we’re pretty confident this seems like a good pairing. Our insider said: “She thinks he’s really handsome and talented. And he seems to be really into her.”
