In the ongoing Cold War between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift – a war that has torn families apart, displaced millions and risked the very existence of the Western world. Well, sort of – it looks like Katy’s about to ramp things up a notch.
Because the Roar singer has registered a brand new song that some are already speculating will be the diss answer to Tay-Tay’s Bad Blood.
The track Crocodile Tears has apparently been officially registered, meaning Katy and her producers – thought to include her good pal Diplo – can get started on it in the studio.
As one insider told the Sun: “Katy knew Diplo would be just the man to produce Crocodile Tears for her and has now registered it.
“So far she’s been very restrained with what she’s said about Taylor in public but is now ready to put her side across via the song – which is all about being fake,” the source continued.
“It isn’t yet known whether it would be released as a one-off or as part of Katy’s fourth album, but she is keen for fans to hear it.”
Sheeeeeesh. Quick reminder: Diplo’s also clashed with Tay in the past, after campaigning for her to “get a booty” – which he almost immediately regretted when several million Swifties started a Twitterstorm aimed directly at him.
He later compared her fandom to “an army that’s worse than North Korea”, which is both topical AND funny. Nice one, Dippy.
Listen, we’ve no idea when this Crocodile Tears track might drop. But we’d strongly advise stocking up on canned goods and digging yourselves a shelter in the garden, OK?
