Katy Perry lines up Missy Elliott for surprise Super Bowl performance

She told her fans: “When you hear the first ring of the chord – I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.”

The rumour mill went crazy with suggestions (someone even started an Aaliyah hologram rumour) but now it’s been reported it is in fact…Missy Elliott.

According to AP, Missy will be up on stage with the Part Of Me star and Lenny Kravitz, although it’s not known what they’ll be performing.

Missy and Katy do have history – Missy made an appearance on a remix of Katy’s hit Last Friday Night back in 2011 – so it wouldn't be the most random pairing in the history of the Super Bowl. Plus the fact Missy is very old school and our faces probably would melt if she bowled up onto the stage.
