Hey there, super fan. We think that Katy Perry is cool for a myriad reasons.

She’s got good hair. She makes AWESOME tunes. And she LOVES her some pizza.

But now we have another reason to flipping love Miss Perry: she’s personally donated $5,000 (that’s £3,300) towards TLC’s next album being recorded.

A source told TMZ that Katy’s a massive fan of the band – and big enough to shell out towards their Kickstarter fund.

The girls are trying to raise $150,000 (that’s £99,000) so they can get back in the studio.

Their page on Kickstarter reads:

“This final album will be the first studio album by the two of us. Of course, Lisa's spirit will always be present in our music. That will never change.

“While major labels offer artists multimillion dollar recording and marketing budgets, they don't often give artists complete control of their own music. It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU.

“Every penny we raise during this campaign will go towards MAKING this final album together with you! The initial goal of $150,000 will go towards a writing session in the studio with a producer and engineer.

“The money beyond that will go to booking music producers, writing sessions, mixing sessions, recording sessions, and SO much more.”

OMG, a final record from TLC? Katy, you've started a trend - we’re off to put our donating caps on…
