When it comes to Christmas songs, we've always felt Keith Lemon circa Bo' Selecta! banger Proper Crimbo is a cruelly-underrated festive tune. Honestly, we'll fight in its name till the end. What a bloody song.
Well now - alongside a whole host of famous faces - Keith's back with another assault on the charts. This time, he's covered 1984 Band Aid classic Do They Know It's Christmas? - with a twist.
Yep, since we've all been stuck on our sofas for approximately 98 percent of 2020 given the whole pandemic situation Keith's teamed up with Spice Girls' Emma Bunton, actual Peter Andre, Girls Aloud stars Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts and a load more celeb pals for Do They Know It's Christmas (Locked Up).
Seriously, anyone who's anyone's involved; AND it's for some great causes.
Chatting about the charity single - which aims to raise money for The Trussell Trust, Crisis, Unicef, Shelter and Samaritans (in honour of his good friend Caroline Flack) - Keith told us, "It’s been a mad old year. But I always get excited around Christmas and I just wanted to do something joyful. I’ve loved Do They Know It’s Christmas? since I was a little kid.
"A lot ‘celeb’ folk have had more time on their hands 'cause of the pandemic and been up for doing online chats and podcasts and stuff. So it made perfect sense to me to bring everyone together to make a lockdown version of Do They Know It’s Christmas? and try raise money for several charities.
"I didn’t have Bono’s number, Paul Young, boy George or Simon Le Bon’s. So I just put out messages to people I did have numbers for. I’m sure Flack would’ve been part of it if she’d have been here. She was a wicked singer. But to the people that did get hack to me and made time to do a little bit of singing I really appreciate it. The info for the charities is on my YouTube channel."

Right, this calls for a celebratory mince pie or five. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
