Poor Kelly Brook's dreams of making it big in America are temporarily on hold until her next venture after her US series was axed.

The network's bosses refuse to keep *One Big Happy *going - even though the infamous Ellen DeGeneres is behind the series.

NBC executives confirmed that Kelly's comedy series has been stopped just after just six episodes.

An NBC spokesman said: "The show One Big Happy is just not coming back. There is no more to say."

The show was in its first series when it ended and received ultimately received its lowest figures - less than three million viewers tuned in.

Just 2.92m Americans tuned in the show's high point to see Kelly's character marry her lover's lesbian best friend.

A US TV source revealed: "One Big Happy was a laughing stock and a huge network flop. NBC worried about upsetting Ellen as she is so important to the network, but from start to finish the show was loathed by fans.

"When a show is barely getting three million fans after so much hype, everyone knew it was done for.

"Kelly may have been playing the media and PR game well for them, but in truth the writing and humour was stuck in the 1970s. "The show wasn't funny enough or engaging enough, despite Kelly being liked by viewers.

"It now means that her dream of US stardom is short-lived, and she will be without a show."

The source continued: "NBC made a point of not leaking the news to prevent the culling being such big news. It is a huge snub to Ellen and also given the marketing budget for the show makes many top brass look stupid.

"For Kelly the problem will now be shaking off such a dramatic flop from her career and aspirations of being seen as a good actress."

Oh dear, on to the next one Kels?
