We love Kelly Clarkson because when people throw her shade, she responds in the best possible way.

Just last month the former American Idol winner brushed off cruel taunts from professional troll Katie Hopkins after the blabbermouth criticised the singer for her weight by simply stating she had no idea who the Apprentice dropout was.

And now the warbler has swept aside further criticism after she was fat-shamed by US television presenter Chris Wallace.

The Fox News Sunday host slammed Kelly for her appearance during a radio interview on The Mike Gallagher Show on Friday.

Completely losing track of the political topic of conversation, Mike said: “Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson? Holy cow, did she blow up!”

Agreeing, Chris replied: “She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.”

But Kelly took the harsh words in her stride again and seemed surprised people get so worked up over how she looks.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, she said: “I love that people think [the topic] is new. Like, welcome to the past 13 years.

“I yo-yo. Sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing and hardcore, and then sometimes I don’t and go, ‘Nope, I’d rather have wine!’”

You tell ‘em, Kelly!
