Kelly and the rest of the Osbourne family have undoubtedly and clearly been left devastated by the death of Ozzy Osbourne, who died on 22 July at the age of 76, just two weeks after he was on stage for the final performance from Black Sabbath. But now daughter Kelly has even more on her mind as she is worried about her mum Sharon’s health and wellbeing following the loss of her husband Ozzy, who has been vocal about his Parkinson’s disease that he was diagnosed with in 2019.

Our sources tell us, ‘Kelly has been utterly destroyed by her father passing away. While it’s knocked her sideways, she’s just been trying to do her best to focus on what’s in front of her, and worryingly she is now really concerned about her mother Sharon. She’s worried about her wellbeing now that Ozzy is no longer here.’ Sharon herself has had her own share of health issues, with a colon cancer diagnosis in 2002 and undergoing a double mastectomy in 2012 due to a genetic predisposition for breast cancer.

Our sources share Kelly has also been worried about Sharon ‘not being able to put weight on’, adding, ‘She looks fragile and she’s been feeling it too, and it’s just tearing Kelly apart to witness.’

Sharon, 72, and Ozzy first met in 1970, when her father, Don Arden, worked for Ozzy’s band, Black Sabbath. The pair got married in Hawaii in 1982, and went on to have Aimee, 41, Kelly, 40, and Jack, 39, together. Ozzy also had Jessica and Louis with his first wife Thelma Riley and adopted her son Elliot from a previous relationship. The couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on July 4, just before Ozzy’s death, and with so much history between them, Sharon had previously shared that she didn’t want to have a life without Ozzy in it. In 2017, she said, ‘Ozzy and I have absolutely come to the same decision. We believe 100% in euthanasia, so have drawn up a plan to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it, we’d be off.’

Ozzy had been open about his battle with Parkinson’s, sharing he could no longer walk, and now following his heartbreaking death, there has been concerns over Sharon’s past comments about her ‘suicide pact’ with her husband. But Kelly has denied any claims of her parents ‘having a suicide pact’, and said, ‘That was bulls*** my mum said to get attention one time.’

As a founding member of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, Ozzy was an inspiration for many heavy metal bands such as Metallica and Guns N’ Roses, who hailed him as having a significant influence on them. But he also caused a lot of controversy with his antics, including biting a bat’s head off on stage and being arrested for urinating on a Texas war monument. Ozzy’s wild lifestyle seeped into his marriage to Sharon. He battled alcohol and drug addiction before reaching full sobriety in 2013 and engaged in numerous affairs during their marriage.

Despite all the ups and downs, our sources shares, ‘Even though Sharon and Ozzy would fight, they had a love deeper than anyone Kelly knows.’ And while ‘Sharon has always been the tough-as-nails matriarch of the family, who would protect everyone at all costs’, we’re told, ‘Their whole foundation has been rocked and people are still looking to Sharon to lead the family and make business decisions for Ozzy’s legacy. But right now, she’s just not up to it.’

Now, it seems it could be up to Kelly to take the reins and step in, as our sources say, ‘She wants to learn the ropes and do things for Sharon, so that she can have time off to process things. Sharon in the past has made Kelly promise her a few things when it comes to keeping the family legacy going, and one day steeping into the ‘matriarch’ role if God forbid something happens to Sharon. Kelly hates even thinking about it, but Sharon is a realist and is very direct. She wants Kelly to be prepared for the inevitable.’

The Osbourne family shot to fame as a collective in 2002, when they became the first celebrity reality TV family with their show, The Osbournes, which eldest daughter Aimee opted out of appearing in. It gave viewers a real insight into the rock and roll family’s dynamic, which could be tumultuous. But no matter what, they’ve always remained a tight-knit unit, and our source say the family have ‘been leaning on each other’ following the loss of Ozzy, and that they’re ‘taking it in turns to cry and console one another.’

Shortly before his death, Ozzy’s final performance with Black Sabbath at Villa Park at his hometown of Birmingham, was an emotional one. He raised £140 million for three different charities and got to witness Kelly’s engagement to Slipknot DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson – with whom she already has two-year-old son Sidney.

And with a family of her own, our sources say that Kelly is ‘seeing things in a different light’ with the passing of her dad, and the worries for her mum. ‘She feels that being a mother herself has made her better equipped to deal with all this. Kelly knows she must be strong for son Sid, as well as her family. Jack has been a great support too, and they will handle a lot of decisions together, but everyone feels like Kelly is already stepping up her role and showing strength in this devastating situation. It’s still early days for the whole family and no one knows exactly how it’s all going to pan out, but lots of mutual family and friends can see Kelly one day taking over as the leader of The Osbournes, and their brand and business deals, as Sharon tried to recover from her broken heart.’
