Police have detained Kerry Katona's fiance George Kay under the Mental Health Act after he was found in the street shouting that someone was going to kill him.

Former Gladiator George appeared agitated and was found weaving in and out of cars on the road outside the couple’s £3,500-a-month, five-bedroom rented home in Chinnor, Oxfordshire.

Cops were called by a terrified woman and when they arrived they pinned the ex-rugby player to the ground while they waited for an ambulance.

George was then detained under the Mental Health Act and taken to a hospital in Oxford for treatment.

A police spokeswoman told heatworld: “Thames Valley Police can confirm they were called to a road in Chinnor, Oxfordshire shortly after 6pm on 30 July. A 34-year-old man was detained under the mental health act and was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. He was later discharged.”

We have approached a representative for George for comment.
