Kay was arrested at their property in Crowborough, East Sussex, on 3 October and charged this Saturday just gone.
He and Kerry have since split up, with Kerry's spokesperson saying: "It is with deep sadness Kerry announces the end of her marriage to George Kay. Her focus now will be on her gorgeous children."
Kay will now appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on 26 November, where a magistrate will decide whether or not to pass his case on to a higher court for trial.
Over the weekend, Kerry tweeted a veiled message seemingly aimed at Kay:
She also posted pictures of her five children playing at home, saying it was a "mad house" and she "wouldn't have it any other way".
