Kiera Knightley’s happy to star in topless shoots, as long as they’re not retouched

The actress has got philosophical on the subject of women's bodies

Kiera Knightley has said that she’s happy to star in topless shoots, as long as her image isn’t retouched.

The star’s breasts were enlarged in promotional pictures for the King Arthur film she starred in in 2004, but she’s bitten back about the manipulation of her bod in shoots and said it shouldn’t matter what women look like.

Go Kiera!

Speaking to The Times newspaper about a recent topless shoot she did for Interview magazine, she said: “That [shoot] was one of the ones where I said: ‘OK, I’m fine doing the topless shot so long as you don’t make them any bigger or retouch.’ Because it does feel important to say it really doesn’t matter what shape you are."

She continued: “I think women’s bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame. Our society is so photographic now, it becomes more difficult to see all of those different varieties of shape.”

We wish Kiera wasn’t so pretty and clever. It doesn’t half make the rest of us look bad.
