It’s been a pretty tough gig trying to keep up with the Kardashians this year. This is mainly due to the fact they’re all pregnant and breeding a new generation of reality TV starlets to take over the world one E! Entertainment show at a time.
OK, they’re not all preggers, but Kim Kardashian is expecting her third child via surrogate and Kris Jenner has practically confirmed the rumours that Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are both having babies too.
Seems like a busy time for the family, right? Not exactly the opportune moment to sack an assistant? Well, that’s precisely what Kim’s reportedly done.
She’s apparently fired her friend and long-time assistant Stephanie Shepherd.
“They just agreed their working relationship was no longer working,” a source told US Weekly last week.
They went on to insist Steph and Kim are still close, and Steph's still friends with the other Kardashian women.
“There isn’t bad blood there. They still hang out and are friends, but they have gone their separate ways and are not working together anymore.”
Since the news broke there’s been lots of speculation over why Kim decided to stop working with Steph.
An increased workload and pressure to keep up with new responsibilities are said to have led to Kim address Steph’s position back in September.
“She was a good assistant but when Stephanie wanted to transition into a larger role with Kim’s brand and businesses, it just didn’t work,” a source told People.
They added: “Kim made an executive decision to part ways.”
Another theory is that Kim didn’t take well to Steph being profiled by Refinery 29 in May, and their relationship had been on a ‘downward spiral’ since then.
Although Steph was careful not to say anything bad about the Kardashians, the profile and as well as “other stuff [that] happened on top of that left a bad taste in Kim’s mouth,” reported Us Weekly.
Does this mean a position in the Kardashian’s krew has opened up?
