Have Kim Kardashian and Kanye West secretly got married in the US ahead of their huge planned nuptials in Paris? According to some reports, they have tied the knot to get around a niggling piece of French legislation...

News outlets are reporting Kimye, who were set to get spliced on May 24th in a lavish ceremony just outside the French capital, went and signed all the important documents over the weekend in a courthouse in California.

A source told Life&Style mag that they are now "married on paper".

"They got their licence in California over the past few days," the informant added.

It is thought the couple decided to marry over in the US instead of Paris because under French law you must have lived in the country for at least 40 days before you can legally get hitched.

However, it's understood they will still be going ahead with their 200-strong ceremony later on this month and have apparently booked out the entire Trianon Palace Hotel in Versailles for their guests to stay in.

Each of the friends and family who attend will receive a goodie bag stuffed with luxurious items, including bottles of Bollinger champagne worth £300 a pop, posh Crème de la Mer skincare products![] and handmade souvenirs personalised with Kimye's initials.
