Continuing in her usual rational and likeable manner, Kristen Stewart has announced that she's taking a break from acting to pursue another art form: making stuff.
Yep, instead of staring broodily into cameras and perplexing fans with the inelasticity of her face, she’ll be whittling goods with her bare hands in a “live work space in downtown LA”.
Stewy explained her decision in USA Today: “I'm taking some time off because I've been working for two years. I'm an actor and that's my art form, and because I started that so young, I've always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to create.”
She continued: “I'm making a short film. I'm making a bunch of (stuff). I don't know how I'll put it out. But I'm not going to hold it so preciously close to me. I write all the time.”
It’s unclear from these statements whether her new fervour for manual work refers to simply holding a pen or if it does in fact mark the dawn of a glorious new age where K-Stew spins pots and attempts woodcraft.
We’ve obviously got our fingers crossed for the latter. Especially if it means she’ll develop a robust social media habit to share images of her wares with the world.
To be fair to the Twilight actress, she has shot seven films back-to-back in the last two years, the most recent being the 2015 sci-fi drama Equals.
And how better to relax after that than a good stint of physical labour in a dubiously-named room in LA?
