It’s no secret that Annie Kilner and footballer Kyle Walker’s relationship has been extremely turbulent over the years, but it appears the couple are back on track.
They recently jetted off to Ibiza to spend some quality time alone together, after a family holiday to the US with their boys last month. And now a source has revealed they’re firmly focusing on the future after everything they’ve been through – and have even discussed expanding their family.
‘Annie and Kyle finally feel like they can start making plans for their future,’ an insider tells heat. ‘Annie has had to put the work in to start trusting Kyle again, but he has really upped his game. She also adores seeing him with the boys and she would love to have one more.’
With four sons – Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and Rezon, one – we’re told Annie, 33, hoping for a baby girl. ‘Rezon is quite a bit younger than the other three and it’d be nice for him to have a playmate – ideally, a little sister. Annie thinks a baby girl would complete them,’ the source reveals.
‘Obviously she’d be happy with another boy, but she still dreams of a little girl and would like one more try. But ultimately, she just feels it would mark a fresh start for them, especially as she felt like she couldn’t fully enjoy her pregnancy with Rezon, as it came at quite a stressful time.’
Childhood sweethearts Kyle, 35, and Annie – who married in 2021 – saw issues in their relationship come to a head in January 2024, when it was revealed that Kyle was the father of influencer Lauryn Goodman’s daughter Kinara, who was born the previous June. Kyle is also dad to Kairo, five, with Lauryn, 35, following a brief fling while he was on a break from Annie.
The couple seemingly worked through the rocky patch, and it was reported last September that Kyle had moved back into their marital home in Cheshire. In January, Kyle transferred to AC Milan in Italy after playing for them on loan under his deal with former club Manchester City – with Annie choosing to stay behind with the boys at their home in Cheshire.
At the time, it was reported that Lauryn was planning to relocate to Italy, so her children could be closer to their father – despite them not having a relationship with him.
However, earlier this month, Kyle signed a two-year deal to play for Burnley FC, meaning he and his family will be staying in the North West. And our source says Kyle continuing to work close to the family home is another reason for Annie to look to the future.
‘Kyle signing to Burnley is a big deal for Annie. He can commute and they will live as a proper family again. Annie was very much involved in talks about his new club, and she didn’t really want to move abroad at this stage in their lives,’ we’re told. ‘One of the boys used to play for one of Burnley’s junior teams, so they know the club and it has a real family feel. They’ve all been made to feel very welcome.’
And our source adds that Kyle and Annie are no longer paying attention to Lauryn’s actions. ‘It’ll be interesting to see if Lauryn is still planning on moving abroad as she had threatened to do when Kyle was at Milan and linked to foreign teams,’ we’re told. ‘They are no longer letting her antics get to them, but if she doesn’t go, it’ll prove she was just trying to wind them up again.’
