Kylie Minogue in Neighbours: An appreciation

Let's step back in time to where it all started, in Ramsey Street

Kylie first burst onto our screens with a BIG head of gravity-defying curls wayyy back in 1986. She was one half of Neighbours' most beloved couple (after the Kennedys, obvs), Scott and Charlene Robinson.

Kylie was the dungaree wearing mechanic who married real-life BF Jason Donovan's character. His highlighted mullet was just as questionable as Kylie's perm, but we think we're into them.

The loved up Aussies stayed on the show for three years before releasing the CLASSIC cheesy hit Especially For You (oh, you know you love it).

Let's take a look back at Kylie's time on Ramsey Street and the early years of her TV and pop career, mostly just to appreciate THAT hair.

Scott and Charlene were Ramsey Street's 'It' couple. These two bouffants were destined to be with each other.

Kylie played feisty tomboy Charlene who trained to be the street's resident mechanic. Here she is wearing a pair of dungarees and talking cars with some bloke to prove it.

Nearly 20 MILLION viewers around the world tuned in. That makes it pretty much just as big a deal as Meghan and Harry, right?

Kylie and Jason dated in real life, too. They released Especially For You in 1989, which has become a karaoke classic (or is that just us?).

She then released debut album, Enjoy Yourself. Yeah that's a hat hair - what of it? And why don't you have one?

Kylie also proved to be a talented drawer of doodles in the video.

Locomotion next, and she really gave those curls serious sass with some added hoop ear-rings in this one.

It's at this point when Kylie decided to go for an edgier, more grown-up vibe. So here she is with a bazooka (or something?), during her stint in the Street Fighter film.

She totally kicked ass. Who wouldn't be afraid of a 5ft pop star?

Before she fully transitioned into grown-up Kylie, she also played a bad ass love-torn teen who wore a corset AND leather jacket in The Delinquents. No, we're not sure if anyone has ever bothered giving it a watch.
