We thought Kylie Minogue had officially adopted us for her forever home, but we should be so lucky. The pop star revealed last week that she will be heading back to live in Australia after 30 years in the UK. And someone who will certainly be feeling the distance is her boyfriend of four years, Paul Solomons – who will not be making the epic, 10,000 mile move with her to her hometown of Melbourne.

“Right now, Kylie has made the decision to move back to Australia and while Paul doesn't want to relocate, they are still very much together and in love,” a source said. “Of course she will be back in the UK from time to time and he will visit Melbourne. They are going to make it work.”

Kylie confirmed the decision last week, but confirmed her relationship with the former GQ director was still on and added that they were used to long periods apart due to her pop career. She even hinted Paul may follow her to Australia eventually, saying: 'Who knows? We're making it up [as we go]. We don't know what the future holds.'

The couple – who met in 2018 through mutual friends – were rumoured to be engaged earlier this year, though Kylie was quick to quash the speculation. More recently, fans had questioned if the pair were even still together, after they spent nine months of the year apart due to lockdown. And now with a 24-hour flight to separate them, it will take a lot of hard work to maintain their relationship, which Kylie has previously said just "feels right."

The singer is making the big move as she's keen to spend more time with her parents, siblings and niece and nephew, after being with them again over lockdown. “I spent a lot of time with my family this year and it felt really good,” she explained last week.

Kylie, 53, that she "can't believe the reaction" of she's had to the news she's leaving London for a new life Down Under. "I’ve had friends call me; my friend at my local restaurant is like, ‘What do you mean? You can’t go’, I said, ‘I’m not really going.’ Of course, I’ve lived here for 30 years, I’m always going to be back.”

We'll miss you, Kylie!
