Huge congratulations are in order for Coronation Street's Kym Marsh as her daughter Emilie Cunliffe has announced her pregnancy! The 21-year-old, whose father is Kym's first partner Dave Cunliffe, is expecting her first child with her boyfriend of six months, although they've been close friends for years.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Emilie revealed she was terrified of telling her dad the news, "I keep thinking, am I really going to be able to do this? For ages I couldn't actually get the words 'I'm pregnant' out of my mouth because I didn't know how people would react – I even made Mum tell my dad! Luckily, I have the most supportive parents in the world and they're both really excited."

Emilie may have been nervous to tell her dad, but Kym revealed that she'd been right there with her when she'd taken the pregnancy test. The 42-year-old, who had Emilie's older brother David when she was 18, added that being a young mum "runs in her family."

She said, "Being a young mum seems to be a pattern in my family. My mum was 18 when she had my brother, my sister was 18 when she fell pregnant and so was I. I've warned her that it's going to be hard work, but I've also said that there are a lot of positives to being a young mum, too."

Kym, who is also mum to seven-year-old Polly with her ex-husband Jamie Lomas, continued, "There were times when I struggled because your life changes so much when you have a child especially when you are young, but I wouldn't change what I have now for the world.

"Me, Emilie and David are best friends and I think that's because there isn't a huge age gap between us."
