Lamar Odom is said to be 'heading in the right direction' since awakening from a three-day coma.

Over the weekend, the NBA star has even been able to socialise and move around, according to* E! News*.

According to the LA Times, Khloe Kardashians' ex is also 'conversational,' able to speak sentences and send text messages.

However the 35-year-old, who was also helped out of his bed and onto a chair and also passed a critical swallow test, is communicating mainly through thumbs up and thumbs down gestures.

A source close to the situation told E! News: "This is great progress but there is always the possibility for setbacks."

The *LA Times *also reported, a spokeswoman for Lamar's aunt also said that he was improving as he is able to breath on his own.

On Friday night, Lamar was taken off a ventilator after he collapsed at a legal Nevada brothel on Tuesday.

He was found unconscious at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South after taking a cocktail of drugs, alcohol and herbal viagra.

Also over the weekend, the Kardashians and Jenners returned to Lamar’s Las Vegas hospital after it emerged he’s "not out of the woods yet".
