Lee Ryan becomes the final member of Blue to declare himself bankrupt; world continues to spin on its axis

And so to the final inevitability of Lee Ryan’s financial affairs: amazingly, eye-poppingly incredibly, Lee Ryan off Blue has declared himself bankrupt, bringing the complete percentage of Blue bandmembers who have wrecked their credit ratings to a ripe 100%.

Empires rise and empires fall and the sun continues to burn liquid hot and all four members of the boy band Blue are now bankrupt.

Yes, Lee has followed in the footsteps of Anthony Costa, Duncan James and Simon Webbe by having his assets frozen and a bespectacled judge sadly banging his gavel on a mountain of paperwork.

Lee, 31, might also have to face his official receiver (someone connected to the bankruptcy court, or a debt specialist) to work out whether he can actually pay back his creditors, according to the Mirror.

There’s talk that Lee’s money troubles were connected to Capquest Investments Limited, which is a debt recovery company that buys off unpaid bills from credit card firms and then goes about reclaiming the cash. Presumably with baseball bats, but we wouldn't like to speculate.

It’s been the latest in a long line of shit-hitting-fan-ness for the Blue lads – they were dropped from their record label in April and their latest album Colours only sold 4,000 copies in its first week.

But, on the plus side, they are playing the Portsmouth Summer Show next month, alongside, er, Professor Green and ‘Fleetingwood Mac’. So. There’s that.
