Yeah, Katy Perry's Superbowl half-time performance was alright, we suppose (if entering a stadium straddling a giant lion, an epic duet with Missy Elliot and grinding against Lenny Kravitz are your bag ) - but the thing that REALLY got everyone talking/tweeting/meming was K-Pez's back-up duo of dancing sharks.

Ever since eagle-eyed tweeters clocked the pair (and the fact that one, well, kind of lost it when he was dancing), all we wanted to know was - who were the men (or women) behind the sharky masks? Snoop Dogg tried to claim he was one of them, joke tweeting "If you were wondering that was me in tha Shark costume !!" - and while that would have been amazing (and maybe explained the quality of the dancing) - the REAL identities of "right and left shark" have been revealed.

"Left Shark" was Bryan Gaw, who only hired two days before the show and didn't know the whole routine. He also tweeted: "Yep. The rumors are true. Yours truly. #SuperBowlXLIX #KatyPerryHalftimeShow @ University of Phoenix…"

While the "Right Shark" is the slightly more experienced Scott Myrick, who changed his Twitter profile to reflect his status as the Right Shark, and revealed his identity on Reddit.

"Yes I was the shark!!!!!!" he wrote in one of the site's "AMA" (ask me anything) threads. "I dance for Katy on her prismatic world tour and have been with her for 5 years".

Scott then answered a load of questions about the performance, revealing it wasn't the craziest costume he's ever worn on tour "I danced as a gingerbread man in her first tour the California dreams tour. And also (as) her big purple cat, kitty purry". He also revealed he was a horse chess piece in the Dark Horse segment of the show - so he had to change into his costume in "1.30 seconds".

DON'T MISS

And in case you're wondering what they look like - the shark guys are hot! Scott is the guy on the left in this Instagram pic - Bryan is the guy on the right.
