Lena Dunham was NOT Photoshopped by that magazine, alright everyone?

Lena was pissed off, then embarrassed, then sorry. Like us, everyday.

Lena Dunham got caught up in a ping-pong game of social media apologies yesterday.

The Girls actress and creator has never been one to sit down and keep her mouth shut, and she caused tidal waves through the Insta-sphere yesterday when she criticised a magazine for their generous use of Photoshop on a Twiggy-inspired photo of her.

Lena was on the cover of Tentaciones, a monthly supplement to the popular Spanish newspaper, El Pais.

However, she was far from happy when she realised that the picture did not appear to be what her “body has ever looked like or will ever look like”.

Obviously, the first thing you do if you’re a pissed off celebrity is get on social media and rant to your followers. Lena’s looked like this:

She thanked the mag for putting her on the cover but criticised their “more than the average Photoshop” and asked them: “if you’re into what I do, why not be honest with your readers?”

Yikes. Lena has passive aggressive down to a T.

The magazine were quick to respond to Lena, penning an open letter to her on their website and stating that they had actually bought the image from an agency, and had only cropped the image to fit on the cover.

They weren’t responsible for any Photoshopping at all.

Awkward.

Then, in an attempt to be nice (and definitely not to make Lena feel bad) they also offered to give her a free subscription to prove that they are, in fact, goodies.

Lena, obviously feeling like a bit of a wally, then had to back pedal a bit (a lot), and posted on Instagram AGAIN, this time apologising to Tentaciones for mouthing off and blaming “society at large”.

Glad that’s all sorted.
