'Someone You Loved' singer Lewis Capaldi joined us backstage for a lovely little chat before he took to the stage at Hits Live Birmingham on Saturday 4th May, telling presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford about his amazing rise to fame.
Lewis, who has achieved massive success in 2018 and 2019, joined the fantastic line-up alongside Louis Tomlinson, Ellie Goulding, Zara Larsson, The Vamps, James Arthur, Mabel, Tom Walker and HRVY.
Since his rise to fame, Scottish singer Lewis has racked up a massive fan following with his amazing vocals, but also for his incredible sense of humour, which he often showcases on his social media accounts.
Of course, if you're a fan of Lewis and follow him on Instagram, you'll be aware of his 'toilet brush incident' back in March. If not, then let us enlighten you...
During a recent trip to Hollywood where he stayed in a hotel, Lewis documented his sheer shock when he used the toilet (for a number two) and it wouldn't flush. Not panicking, the singer decided to look for the toilet brush, but there wasn't one, driving him into a hilarious rant to his Instagram followers.
Speaking to Sarah-Jane, Lewis spoke about THAT incident, saying, "I wouldn’t lie about that! You should have seen me when I walked into the toilet and saw what I left myself in the night, it was like a dirty Santa Claus.
"There are some weird people on Hollywood Boulevard, people getting photos and stuff with me, a plunger in hand."
Oh, Lewis! 😂😂😂
Speaking about his recent success, Lewis also told Sarah-Jane, "It’s going ok so far, people seem to like it. I’m always thinking people will have had their fill. The lower you aim the more likely you are to be happy.
He then added, "If you’re out there and someone’s thinking about leaving you and you don’t know what to do just stay and then when you leave you’ll be really sad and you’ll write an album and you’ll be a single."

Lewis also revealed that he was surprised by how big 'Someone You Loved' had become, "No, I thought, it was definitely strange watching it just grow and grow and grow. Now I’m getting Tweets from people saying, like, oh my god I’m sick of hearing that Lewis Capaldi song on the radio. I can’t turn on the radio without it. Everytime I see one of those Tweets, I think, the royalty cheque."
He also revealed that he's on Tinder, but joked that he found it a bit "dry", saying, "I just wouldn’t mind someone to keep me warm at night. There must be some girls out there!"
