Lewis Hamilton FINALLY addresses those Rihanna dating rumours! But are we convinced?

Lewis Hamilton is all set for Monza this weekend, as he arrived for the Italian GP on Wednesday night, but it looks like Rihanna won't be supporting her rumoured fling.

The Mercedes Formula One driver has silenced rumours that he and the *Bitch Better Have My Money *singer are dating - they've just known each other for a long time and are "good friends". Yeah right, we've heard that before. Dammit we so wanted these two to be together.

In last week's *heat *magazine, **we even reported that we spoke to RiRi's "second mum" who said they'd have "beautiful babies" together.

But it turns out RiRi "isn't ready" to settle down just yet.

Speaking to E! News Lewis responded about his platonic relationship with Rihanna and said: "You know, I’ve known Ri for a long time."

And despite spending time together in Barbados last month at the Crop Over Festival, the 30-year-old continued: "We’ve been friends for a while. We get to hang out every now and again…otherwise, we’re just good friends."

However Sharon Bellamy Thompson, who helped raise the singer as a child, baby sitting her and driving her to school, told* heat* last month: "They would have beautiful babies."

"As long as the man makes her happy, he's got my approval. You've got to love his British charm," Sharon continued.

So are we convinced by what Lewis said about them being just friends?

While on the Caribbean island the pals spent a day of enjoying some water sports together, getting their jet-sking on.

Rumours started to erupt further after RiRi and Lew were then spotted leaving New York's 1Oak nightclub, were they were rumoured to have had dinner together.

And on August 14 the pair were hanging out in the Meatpacking District of NYC arriving at another club - within minutes of each other.

And Lewis isn't the first sporting star RiRi has been linked to.

Earlier this year RiRi was rumoured to be dating Real Madrid footballer Karim Benzema.

The pair were said to be "taking it slow" as they both respect the busy schedules that come with their high-profile careers.

And in June, we reported that RiRi may have found herself in a love triangle AGAIN with Karrueche Tran AGAIN, as they were both spotted hanging with Karim.

So what have we learned today kids? That Rihanna likes sport stars - well at least, likes to hang out with them.
