We've all been waiting for what seems like ACTUAL YEARS for news of the birth of little baby Chiam, and we're almost as excited about it as we were about finding out that Cheryl and Liam Payne were a couple in the first place.

It was a big surprise for everyone involved.

As pretty much everyone on the planet will (probably) be aware, One Direction are currently on some sort of ambiguous 'hiatus' and the boys are all embarking on shiny new solo careers. Including Liam.

As heat mag reported last week, Liam's due back in LA for recording sessions this month, which is not ideal amidst reports Cheryl may have already given birth to their baby.

A source told us: "Cheryl and Liam have talked a lot about his solo career and it’s caused some tension. While Liam is committed to being there for Cheryl and the baby, his record company want to move ahead with a September release for his new music and want him in the US to start doing promotional work months in advance.

"He’s reassured Cheryl the baby is his priority but even he’s not sure what’s going on with his schedule."

"She understands how difficult it can be to break America and wants Liam to achieve his dream, but she also doesn’t want to be waiting at home in Surrey, literally holding the baby, while he’s out in LA.

"She knows that they will have to compromise at times and of course it’ll be challenging sometimes."
