Lisa Armstrong has liked a tweet that claimed there was ‘hurt’ in Ant McPartlin’s eyes during his return to Saturday Night Takeaway at the weekend.

The tweet, which read: “Your so bloody lovely.. so sad for you.. I see the hurt in your eyes.. and ant's eyes.. you one amazing lady.. xx take care xxx” was a reply to a tweet Lisa wrote about the show.

She posted: “Massive luck to all involved in @itvtakeaway have a great show and a brilliant series xx”.

This comes after many viewers voiced their concern about the fact that Ant, who took a six month break from television last year after a stint in rehab, gave a ‘shaky’ performance during the show.

"Ant looks a bit anxious to me.. .a bit panicky hope he's ok."

Another said: 'Ant McPartlin look awful, very agitated. Hope he's ok.”

A third chimed in with: "Ant just doesn't look right someone help him!”

However, some viewers defended Ant, arguing that he’s bound to be nervous on live television to so many people.

One wrote: “For god sake will people give Ant McPartlin a break! The poor guy probably was just nervous! I think he looked the best he has in a long time!@antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway”.

Another added: “Y’all are losing your minds about #antmcpartlin on #SaturdayNightTakeaway. He’s been open about addiction to Tramadol, a prescription only painkiller. Coming off it is rough, you aren’t just magically back to what’s perceived as normal the minute you stop, cut the guy some slack”

And a third said: “my mans ant mcpartlin, with the weight of the world on his shoulders, coming out and absolutely smashing saturday night takeaway outta the park
