After everything that’s happened to Lisa Armstrong, we couldn’t be happier she’s found love again. And insiders tell heat things are about to get even better for the make-up artist, as she’s planning a wedding to boyfriend James Green for this very summer.
In fact, we hear Lisa’s hoping to run away to an exotic island with a small circle of nearest and dearest – the complete opposite of her first wedding.
“Lisa’s been dropping hints to friends and family about eloping,” says a source close to the TV star, who went public with James in August 2020, two-and-a-half years after splitting from BGT presenter Ant McPartlin, following 23 years together.
“She thought about having a big showbiz wedding, but doesn’t want the stress. She looks back at her wedding pictures with Ant and cringes, as it was so formal. She’s also aware everyone’s going to compare her day to Ant’s wedding to new wife Anne-Marie. She doesn’t want anything big or traditional like that – she thinks it’s embarrassing when you’ve already had a big wedding. This is a completely new chapter of her life – she wants something different.”
As heat’s previously told you, the 45 year old hasn’t been shy of flaunting her relationship with electrician and dad-of-two James, 38, even sharing a recent love letter to Instagram.
We’re told, “Lisa feels like she and James are perfect for one another. They’re both down-to-earth, but also spontaneous and fun. Sneaking off to a tropical island to get hitched is much more them than a big wedding. Neither of them feel like they have to put on a show – they just want to be with each other. They’re completely on the same page in their relationship and hope their friends and family will join them for an intimate little ceremony.”
The source adds, “Some of Lisa’s pals are worried she may be rushing into things, and of course they feel protective of her as she’s been through a lot. But if this is what she really wants, they will absolutely give her their blessing. They just want her to be happy.”
