Lisa Armstrong ‘likes’ tweet about loneliness following Ant McPartlin’s drink driving arrest

Lisa Armstrong has liked a heartbreaking tweet about loneliness after her ex-husband Ant McPartlin was arrested for allegedly drink driving on Sunday.

The tweet was posted by recently widowed Blue Peter presenter Simon Thomas, and reads: "You never realise how lonely you are until it's the end of the day and you got a bunch of things to talk about and no one to talk to."

Ant was arrested at 4pm yesterday (18 March) afternoon after his black mini was involved in a collision with two other vehicles. He then failed a breathalyser test.

He reportedly lost control of his mini at a roundabout, and crashed into a green mini containing a couple and their young child.

The child was taken to hospital for a check up, and witnesses reportedly said that the woman appeared to have minor injuries.

Ant was released in the early hours of this morning from a south London police station.

Ant spent two months rehab last year for a painkiller addiction, and he claimed to have 'changed' as a result of his stay there.

The accident came just hours after he appeared to be in high spirits while appearing on Saturday Night Takeaway. ITV are yet to release an official statement on the arrest.
