Ant McPartlin's estranged wife Lisa Armstrong has responded to questions surrounding his arrest on suspicion of drink-driving.

Ant, who's said to be 'devastated,' was involved in a car crash in South London on Sunday (March 18th); leading him to return to rehab and take a break from television for the 'foreseeable future.'

Now, after 'liking' a photo about loneliness posted by TV presenter Simon Thomas, Lisa has addressed the arrest with reporters.

Speaking over the intercom of her home in Chiswick, West London, Lisa told reporters: "I'm sorry I'm not interested" when questioned about the incident.

This all comes after a friend of Ant's told the Daily Mail he's been drinking heavily since leaving rehab. They said: "Ant likes a good time, he likes being a normal guy. He's a bit of a scallywag, the sort of person who is the last one out of the bar.

"He's a fish out of water in showbiz really, all of that keeping your nose clean isn't him at all. I know that he has been drinking heavily since he came out of rehab. He's not wanted to give it up, maybe he's not been able to."

Ant previously revealed his friendship with Dec started in 1990, when he sent him a Christmas card and invited him to a football match. He said: "And that was that. It just happened immediately. Ant's presenting partner Declan Donnelly is said to be 'devastated' over the arrest, with an insider telling The Sun: "He’s just really upset about it all just on so many levels - gutted and worried about Ant obviously and devastated he’s going back to rehab."

Yesterday, ITV released a statement explaining Ant will be stepping down from presenting duties for the 'foreseeable future.' They said: "Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments. He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future.

"ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec’s team not to broadcast Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.

"We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series (March 31 and April 7) which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment. We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs."
