Ryan Reynolds has some important and shocking news for you. That baby he’s got with Blake Lively that we’ve all been referring to as Violet?

Um, she’s not actually called Violet.

Ryan spoke on USA Today, saying: “No, that's not the name. I don't want to get into that but I don't know where that came from.”

Note that he was tricksy and didn’t actually tell us what the baby’s name IS (damnit!). Well done on avoiding that question, Ryan, well done.

Ryan’s wife Blake Lively had the baby, whose name definitely isn’t Violet, back in December, so baby no-name is going to be at that exceedingly cute stage right about now.

So, now we know that Violet isn’t the baby’s name – it could be ANYTHING else.

"I don't want a name that's anything pretentious or, like, Hollywood-y," Ryan told eTalk back in November. "So I'm going with Excalibur Anaconda Reynolds… that's if it's a girl."

LOL at Ryan’s funny joke there, although maybe it’s not actually a joke and the baby has been called Excalibur ALL ALONG.

That would be both insane, and commendable.

Go on guys, tell us the name!
