One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has opened up to his fans for the first time since the tragic death of his 18-year-old sister Félicité Tomlinson.

Félicité sadly passed away on Wednesday 13th March after suffering a cardiac arrest, just two years after Louis' mum Johannah Deakin lost her battle with Leukemia, leaving behind seven children.

Now, breaking his social media silence, Louis has taken to Twitter to thank his fans for their love and support throughout the tough time. He wrote, 'Just wanted to thank everyone for their lovely words over the past couple of weeks. Back in the studio today to vocal something I wrote a few months ago. Sending you all loads of love x'. [sic]

Fans of the 27-year-old were quick to comment on his tweet, with one writing, 'We are so proud of you Louis! x'. Another wrote, 'Love you so much, can’t wait to hear what you’ve been working on! 💖'.

A third added, 'Love you so much, can’t wait to hear what you’ve been working on! 💖'.

The tragic news of Félicité's death was confirmed by the Metropolitan Police in March. A spokesperson said, "Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 12.52pm on Wednesday, March 13 to a residential address in SW5 following reports of a female in cardiac arrest.

"At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. Enquiries continue."

Our thoughts are with Louis and his family at this tough time.
