In a scene that's set to air on tonight's The X Factor, judge Louis Tomlinson can be seen weeping during a singer's audition, which reminded him of his late mother.

Auditioner J-Sol sang a tribute to his own later mother, which made Louis immediately leave his chair to give the contestant a big hug. It was all very emotional, so make sure you have your tissues at the ready for tonight.

Louis told J-Sol: "I lost my mum as well, you did an amazing job." He added: "That’s the power of music that you can write such a beautiful song that’s touched us all on this panel. You’re a legend for what you’ve just done."

Louis tragically lost his mum Johannah Deakin back in 2016 after her lengthy battle with leukaemia. She died at the age of 43 and left behind Louis and his three siblings.

Shortly after her death, Louis' dad was diagnosed with liver cancer. Although at the time, Louis hadn't spoken to his dad in over 5 years, hearing of his diagnosis must have been hard to cope with.

J-Sol's audition didn't just touch the heart of Louis - it also made judge Ayda Field tear up. She revealed: "When he sang the first note, I was like, 'Oh my God, here we go'.

"It touched me. I feel I needed to hear that song. I needed to feel some things I wasn’t ready to deal with. I was grateful," she added.

Tonight's The X Factor show also promises to drop other bombshells, such as when Simon gets confronted by a contestant who claims to be his ‘ex baby mama’....awkward!

The new series of The X Factor started earlier this month with a brand new judging line-up consisting of husband and wife duo, Robbie Williams and Ayda Williams, along with One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson and returning head judge Simon Cowell.

The X Factor continues tonight at 8.35pm on ITV.
