Louis Tomlinson’s ex Briana Jungwirth has paid tribute to the One Direction star’s late mother after she passed away.

Singer Louis’ mum Johannah Deakin died this week at the age of 42 after a secret battle with leukaemia.

And her famous son’s former flame has spoken out to say how much she admired Johanna in a post on Instagram.

Brianna wrote: "My heart aches. Every time I look at (her and Louis’ son) Freddie, I see you in him Jay.

"I will always remember the times we shared and the talks we had. I looked up to you and sadly only knowing you for a short time, I aspired to be just like you in a mother to Freddie.

"I promise to share with him all of what I know of you including your beautiful attributes. We both loved you very much. You’ll always stay close forever in our hearts."

Brianna’s step-father Brett Clarke also paid tribute by sharing a picture of Johannah and her husband Dan Deakin online.

He wrote: "My heart goes out to the whole Tomlinson-Deakin family. Although I didn’t get to spend as much time with her as I wanted she always made my family and I feel special.

"She was warm, funny, selfless. She raised a whole group of legends and was more of a mum to her children but also a friend.

"She always put her kids first and was more than an awesome mum. Her whole life was about her kids and her husband Dan.

"I put this here in promise to love more like you, to be more humble like you, to me more compassionate about others like you did and maybe pass on a little of your legacy to be more selfless like you were."

Johannah’s husband announced the sad news of his wife’s death on Friday in a statement, saying: "It is with immeasurable sadness that Johannah Deakin’s family said goodbye to Johannah in the early hours of Wednesday 7th December 2016.

"Earlier this year Johannah was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of leukaemia that required immediate and continuous treatment.

"We respectfully request that the family are given time and space to grieve in private."
