One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has just made one young fan's day by sending him a handwritten message and a hamper full of gifts. The lovely gesture came about through the Make A Wish Foundation, a charity which helps fulfill the wishes of children who have terminal illnesses.

News of the lovely gesture came when the little boy's mum tweeted saying, 'Just had an amazing call from @MakeAWishUK louis has reached out to Harrysson and sent him lots of bits my heart is literally going to burst @Louis_Tomlinson @LouisTeamFrance @LouisPromoSquad thank you for always being there for my precious boy!' [sic]

Karly later replied to a tweet asking how Harrysson was, saying, 'Harrysson is up and down waiting on appt for his bowel at the moment bless him just one thing after another. Thank you I appreciate all your support it’s so lonely at times xx'. [sic]

A few days after sharing the news, Karly followed it up with a photo of the note from Louis which read, 'To Harrysson, Just wanted to send my love!! You are so so so BRAVE! Hope we see each other again soon!! Loads of love Louis xx'.

She also shared a photo of the wicker hamper packed full of goodies.

Karly has since shared a photo of Harrysson wearing the pyjamas Louis sent for him. Cute!

Louis first met his young fan when he was a judge on The X Factor, and Harrysson had the opportunity to go backstage.

Since One Direction started their hiatus in January 2016, Louis has released a number of singles as well as appearing on The X Factor as a judge. Earlier this year he released his song, 'Two Of Us', the emotional music video saw Louis team up with Richard, an 83-year-old widower, to complete his 'bucket list'. Richard lost his wife to Alzheimer's Disease two years ago, in the same month that Louis lost his mum, Johannah Deakin.
