One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has faced an incredibly hard past month, with the tragic death of his 18-year-old sister Félicité Tomlinson on 13th March, just two years after the passing of their mother, Johannah Deakin.

After staying silent for a number of weeks, Louis took to Twitter last week (17th April) to thank everyone for their support. And now, the star has taken to Instagram to share some of his thoughts as he reflects on his career. He captioned the image, 'Wanted to get this off my chest' [sic].

In the candid post, Louis continued, 'Over the last few weeks I've put a lot of things in to perspective and in fact what I should be doing is forgetting about perception and to a certain degree worry less about being defined on commercial success.' [sic]

He then wrote, 'I'm not here to compete with the likes of drake and Ariana grande. I'm here to make music I love and make my fans proud to say they're a fan. Turning a page today.' [sic]
