Thousands of residents are still being evacuated from their homes in California after the terrifying wildfires continue to spread, with the death toll rising to 42 on Monday, making it the deadliest wildfire in the state's history.
A number of celebrities including Gerard Butler, Liam Payne, Miley Cyrus and the Kardashians have already praised the emergency services and posted about the terror the fires are causing in their neighbourhood.
And now, it's been revealed that One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson's two-year-old son Freddie was evacuated from his home with his mum Briana Jungwirth.
As Freddie and Brianna were able to flee their home in time, Louis' ex-girlfriend took to Instagram to share the devastation in her street.
Sharing a photo of a burnt out house and car, Briana wrote, 'Our poor neighbors'. [sic]
Over 300,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes, with London Has Fallen actor Gerard Butler sharing a photo of the damage to his socials.
Revealing the news that his house was destroyed by the fires, the actor posted a photo of himself, showing the charred remains of his house and a car in the background, he captioned his photo, 'Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you @LAFD.' [sic]
Singer Miley Cyrus also tweeted about the devastation, admitting she has been one of the 'lucky ones'. She wrote, 'Completely devastated by the fires affecting my community. I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely & that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong. I am grateful for all I have left. Louis' One Direction band mate Liam Payne then revealed he thinks he is about to 'lose his house'. He wrote to his 32.4 million followers, 'My heart goes out to everyone caught in the fires please stay safe and don’t take unnecessary risks. I think I’m about to lose my house and its memories 😔even worse tragically people have died thoughts and prayers with everyone it’s been a tough day let’s hope it gets better 🙏🏼'. [sic]
As firefighters and other emergency services continue to fight the fires, it is being reported that at least 228 people are missing, with nearly 7,200 structures being destroyed.
